Gold’s support is structural. Central banks bought a record 289 tonnes in Q2. Miners add operating leverage, and an oil major adds the energy-shock leg.
Risks
Gold sits about 27% below its January high, with ETF holders selling while central banks buy. Morgan Stanley flags further Fed tightening, a stronger dollar, and central-bank selling as risks. Oil exposure fades if the 2027 surplus arrives. There are no inflation-linked bonds, so it hedges commodity shocks, not CPI. Figures as of November 2026.
