Thesis
The mirror trade. The EIA sees Brent falling toward $74 by Q4 2027 as Gulf supply returns, which cuts fuel costs for airlines and cruise lines while a short Brent position gains.
Risks
Timing. The IEA still sees a deficit through year-end and flagged renewed Houthi attacks, so a short can be squeezed long before the surplus arrives. Airlines and cruise lines also fall in a recession even with cheap fuel. Figures as of November 2026.
